Star Platinum [スタープラチナ] Game Sample -- PC-98
No, Star Platinum for PC-98 (and WIN) is not some obscure game about Jotaro's "Stand", sadly. Star Platinum is... you guessed it, another adult PC-98 game. To be specific, it's a miscellaneous card game with an emphasis on storytelling and a theme which revolves around the stars, gods, zodiacs, tarots, and constellations, and it's a pretty good game too. It actually has a dual language opening (English / Japanese) and special ending (Staff Roll), multiple females with nicely drawn HCGs (almost like detailed oil paintings in spite of the PC-98's limited capabilities), multiple endings, a cool upbeat soundtrack (with some help by Hitoshi Sakimoto), and an addicting, interesting premise for a card game that requires both luck and skill. The game also has an uncommon degree of "access" for a PC-98 game, letting you listen to the game's soundtrack as well as view earned CGs of varying types, endings, and the ability to continue from the beginning of any chapter or jump right to the game. Considering "Custom" had their name on this and Bukichi Nadeara contributed the artistic talent, this game could've just as well succeeded without the mature content, but what's done is done... there really aren't that many games kids could play on PC-98, that's for sure.
