ESPGaluda - Stage 2
Here is a High Scoring 1 Credit Clear Run of Cave's ESPGaluda, taken from the second of my good runs in STGT 2012. ESPGaluda, is a modern manic 2d shoot-em-up (or shmup) by Cave, released in 2003, and on PS2 in 2004. This video is taken directly from the PS2 port, while playing the game set on "Tate" mode (and not Tate Hosei), which comes out very well on both the screen and the capture output. The game uses an additional button, which starts Kakusei mode, this is when the bullets turn Purple (or Red) and change speed. The bullets are purple when you have any green gems (called Seireiseki) and then shooting an enemy will cancel all of the bullets from that enemy, and points will be given. Leaving the Kakusei mode on when you have no green gems left turns the bullets Red, and starts Over Mode, and this gives you more green gems per enemy, and makes the Red bullets much faster, but Over Mode resets after each death. I've played the PS2 port a lot in the past, and while I could clear the game, I had problems trying to score. However with the help of STGT 2012, I have quickly learned scoring techniques, and this is shown in the video. The game has a huge end of game bonus, which is usually increased by suiciding just before you beat the final boss. Player: SMRAEDIS Date Recorded: 26 August 2012
